I am not a "VA person", but I am a daughter of a WWll veteran. My father passed in 2005. I would like to say Thank You to your father for his service for our country. I pray for his comfort and health. I am sorry you are having such difficulty, when you are already dealing with so many emotions. May peace be with you.

I am so sorry about the problems that your father is having with the federal authorities. My husband retired after 24 years in the Army, 2 of those years were spent in Viet Nam. He served his country at a time when it was not popular to do so and he was proud every time he put that uniform on. Back in 66 when he enlisted, there were so many promises made, especially if he made it a career. Now that we are retired, we shake our heads in consternation, wondering where those benefits went. I pray for your father who also served during wartime. I will keep you in my prayers, too, as you help him negotiate the tons of paperwork that are required. My husband has put all pertinent papers in our safe; however, I wonder if everything that will be needed, upon his death ,to be buried in the Dallas/Ft.Worth National Cemetary. I am so sorry and feel bad about your father. It is a shame that after WW2, the veterans wanted just to get out and go home. They passed all of their bypasted all of their benefits so they could get home quicker. I harp on this all the time. Do it as soon as possible, do not wait. Records are lost after so many years and the VA is so far behind right now. I wish your father the best but keep in mind that ther are many before him and we all must stand in line. LarryDSr-Maine
