Placing a wreath at my husband's grave

As I mentioned in earlier comments, I go to Arlington each saturday morning early to visit my husband's grave. I was "awe struck" at the amount of people from the Washington DC area who came to Arlington to place wreaths on the graves of our fallen heroes. Everyone was so appreciative of our military men and women. The sight of the two 18 wheelers with the "Wreaths Across America" brought tears to my eyes. I was able to get a couple of wreaths, one for my husband's grave and one for an ajoining grave. A Coast Guardman accompanied me over to section 54, took some pictures of me placing the wreath on my husband's grave. While walking over to section 54, we chatted about the day's events and how much it meant to those of us who have loved ones at Arlington. After taking the pictures, he left to pay his respects to a friend of his, who was buried in the same section. I don't know the Coast Guardman's name, but I eternally grateful for those few moments of conversation; THANK YOU, whoever you are. My husband's grave has a permanent marker on it now; so elegant for such an elegant man. As I gaze up the hill, it is a breath taking to see all the wreaths placed on each grave. I hope,in the future, for more to have the opportunity to participate in this ceremony. There is no price that we can put on our honoring of our fallen heroes..........
