Worcester Wreath would like to thank the following for their help with the Arlington Wreath Project and Wreaths Across America
Our first thanks always go out to all the volunteers over the years who have given of their time to decorate wreaths and participate in the wreath-laying ceremony. Without many hands and many hearts - the project would be too much for any one group. We also have received support from a number of civic and commerical groups, including:
American Legion
and
VFW
members have volunteered their time from the start in 1992. Congregating the Sunday morning before the annual trek, Veterans and their families decorate the wreaths with hand tied bows. Veterans from both organizations also particpate in the wreath-laying ceremonies in Maine and in Washington D.C.
Larry Ross and his Red Hat Entourage
made up of school children from the Magaret Chase Smith School in Skowhegan, Maine have also made the long trip down to Arlington for the annual event. Recognizable by their red winter hats, the class and chaperons raise money through-out the school year to participate.
Annin & Company
is the oldest and largest manufacturer of flags in the United States. With the introduction of the Wreaths Acorss America campaign, Annin & Company will be donating both American and service specific flags for each ceremony wreath that will be used at the over 230 State and National cemeteries and monuments across the country.
Interstate Container
and
International Paper
both support the Arlington Wreath Project and Wreaths Across America by donating the corrugated storage boxes that are used to ship the wreaths from their birthplace at Worcester Wreath in Harrington, Maine to their eventual homes adorning the grave markers of our Nation's fallen heroes.
United Parcel Service (UPS)
will joing the Wreaths Across America campaign in 2006 by donating all shipping expenses to each of the over 230 State and National cemeteries and monuments across the Country. To learn more about UPS, click on the link above.
This list is not yet complete. More volunteers coming soon...
