Thankful

This event is something I first participated in last year and it was very touching. My grandfather was retired Army and was someone very dear to my heart. My family lives in Louisiana and it can be hard being away from them. After I learned about Wreaths Across America, I made sure my Mom knew so she could participate in their local ceremony. It was so comforting to know that at the exact same time, many states away, my Mom was doing the same thing - each of of thinking of the other and the meaning that my grandfather/her father had in our lives. It was wonderful to take time to remember how he, and so many others who are part of my life, have served our country.
I work at the local VA Hospital and made a point to take some of the Veterans with me to the ceremony. They enjoyed the ceremony and it gave me a new found respect for them and the things they endured.
Thank you to those who are a part of this event. I plan to be there this year!
